RedrebelI was wondering what other formation Chelsea used and I thought of the 4-4-2. If I am correct this is how the formation would look like. Some of you guys might Change Ballack for Deco, Deco for Essien, but Essien is injured so tough luck. I think Ballack is a more complete player than Deco because Ballack can play any position in the pitch even goalkeeper if he has too. What is your opinion about this formation?

nvrBallack is just too vanilla. How long has he been with Chelsea? Over a year now, some of that out with injury. In which game did he shine? Sure, he scored a couple of goals, but did he make any difference in Chelsea's game? NO.

Now look at Deco's games with Chelsea. He took them one step above than what they were. He created wonders in attack.

So if, Chelsea ever plays 442, it must be with Deco and a more defensive midfielder. Mikel if not Essien. Ballack and Lampard sits on the bench.

However it is also safe to say that Chelsea will rarely play 442, as they only have two decent strikers. They cannot afford loosing both.

RedrebelYou don't think that is possible for both center-midfielders to attack? I though all center-midfielders in Premier League were box-to-box midfielders.
