This is Alfio Basile standard formation with Riquelme and Messi playing as attacking midfielders on the flanks. Gago and Cambiasso recovering the balls that Riquelme and Messi lose. This national team has a lot of chemistry it's amazing at the speed they play. What do you think of this formation looks pretty strong and solid?
your best line up so far... a lot more balance on the pitch and i like that you remembered about recovering the balls in the midfield and not just on the back
i'd like to add the possibility of tevez spreading to he left and riquelme going to the center sometimes to add more dinamycs to the attacking, and gago and cambiasso are both of them box to box midfielders which is something that i like

lol i just realized you didn't made this one up, actually its whats was used in the last 2 argentina world cup qualy games... hence the difference with the other formations you have made
anyway, i like this one but somehow the argies havent managed to win any of the 2 games with it... hmmm weird considering all the class in these players
Not a bad lineup, but is really Burdisso and Demichelis Argentina's best central defenders? A shame if so. I don't know the status of Walter Samuel or Ayala (he has perhaps retired from international football), but these two are definitely not in Argentinian standard. The fullbacks are good, so are the defensive midfielders. But I cannot believe that an Argentinian team is set up without Mascherano, probably the best defensive midfielder there is. Tevez, Messi, Agüero and Riquelme make a tremendous attacking four, but hopefully Riquelme won't be used where you've put him. A central role is undoubtedly a better position for him.
But a great team. Sadly I don't think it is good enough to win a World Cup like I believe the 2006-model was.

agree with geit points... is really hard to pick 2 spots between 3 tremendous players, mascherano, cambiasso and gago... to me probably the last would have to stay in the bench
and also i agree you can get the best from riquelme in the center role
