I stumbled on this video when browsing YouTube. The footage of Netherlands from 74 WC was limited to later stages of the tournament. I always wondered how they fared against weaker teams in early stages. That was very interesting to watch.

I wasn't on this earth durin WC'74 but I have feeling that if Dutch had someone half the calibre of Gerd Muller in their squad, they would have sweeped it.

Agree with you, clearly this was the evolutionary leap that Barca's DNA comes from. But like Barca, it works because they are superior technically and it appears fitness wise.

The offside trap in the first 15 seconds is insane - don't think any teams of today would try and shove all 11 within 10 yards front to back.
