4-2-4?

FeriAts @ 09.07.2009

Seems more of a 4-4-2 to me. Or a 4-2-2-2 if you want it to sound modern.

Roberticus @ 09.07.2009

But this guy can't be serious, can he? I reckon it's a wind-up.

Xavi and Kaka holding?

Messi and Ronaldo as wide midfielders? They are wingers (ie; outside-forwards, not wide midfielders)

Robert O'Carlos @ 10.07.2009

From a tactical point of view, I just can't understand why you would want Messi and Ronaldo out wide with 2 forwards in between them, unless Raul is going to drop deep. They both like to dribble infield towards goal so would need the space to do so.

For me, drop Raul and bring in a holding midfielder to sit behind Xavi and Kaka' to allow them to concentrate more on their forward game.
:-)

And there must be better options than Puyol at the back surely?
:-)

Roberticus @ 10.07.2009

Exactly,

and what's more, how would it work during defensive phase? Whenever Raul drops back it is to link up play, not so much to defend.

Even as a 4-2-3-1 it wouldn't work; Xavi and Kaka wouldn't be adequate holders.

kemalt @ 12.07.2009

there'll be a huge gap between defence and midfield(if there's any)

this team would probably be the most goal conceding team.

This team would win games 6-4 or have some crazy games like that. Sure it would be entertaining, but I can't see anyone getting along. It just spells disaster. Too many ego's.
