I'll start with my rant about Robinho. Appearently Barcelona are interested in him. He's talented, no doubt about it. But isn't it proven, time and time again, that he is inconsistent and not to be trusted.
Barcelona should not have a burning desire for his type of player and yet they are prepared to pay £6M just to sign him on loan. Is this about the El Classico?
It's surprising that Guardiola is entertaining the idea - I think if Robinho had already been at Barca when Pep took over he would have been one of the players transferred out.
I'd expect the Akinfeev deal to go through for the fact that he'd be hoping for first team action leading up to the World Cup, if no other reason. For the same reason, I wouldn't know what Pavlyuchenko might be thinking.
Fabregas is an interesting one. He's been saying for years he'd be off unless Arsenal started to win trophies.
Not heard that Barca were keen on Robinho on a loan deal. He could flourish in Spain - not such a tough league for forwards. :-)
The Akinfeev to United story has run a bit cold. The word seems to be that United are looking at Neuer now. Also I think United would rather look at a deal for Silva, and possibly Villa, from Valencia than Aguero. There has been talk that Liverpool were also interested in Villa, but reports in Spain say he's unimpressed by their recent results so not sure that's a runner. :-)
Traditionally, January is not usually known for many big name moves. Maybe some interesting ones with the World Cup coming up though.
Yep, Ferguson has trashed talk of any deal for Campbell. Wenger, on the other hand, has hinted there may be an amazing return to the Emirates. Campbell is currently training with Arsenal, and might consider rejoining Arsenal on a vastly reduced financial contract. Not sure if that would make Arsenal 'south of the table' tho! :-D
Also, Arsenal in for Rafael van der Vaart is one new rumour. :-)
I am reading a piece of news saying Liverpool will pay £25M for Chamakh. Even Benitez can't get it that wrong; the chap has 6 months on his contract...
