DaGunnersThis will be it.

ZolaThat midfield is just terrifying. Actually, if they can be full strength in WC, I don't see any team capable of beating them. I suppose it will be thier first WC win and it was due.

FeriAtsWho wil they play if Torres does not recover? Guiza? That looks an achilles heel to me.

DaGunnersFeriAts, if Torres gets hurt David Silva will take his place in a 451 formation. Torres has never really been great for Spain anyway, and the Spanish don't rate him as highly as the English due to his style of play.

SpaceGhostHow would you accommodate those four in a five man midfield?

20.01.2010

FeriAtsHe has scored 23 goals for Spain and he is only 25. To put things into perspective Raul scored 44 and he is 32. Torres' record seems pretty great to me.

I wonder if they would take Raul to WC despite his lack of first team football.

squicke1Swap round Iniesta and Cesc, and then move Xavi from right to left and that team is unbeatable. I don't much rate Cesc as a pure AMF, but Andres could nail that position. Silva supplies backup there too, so that's the formation I'd expect to see from them.

DaGunnersSpaceGhost, in a 5 man midfield I suppose I'd play Senna as the DM in a 4141 formation with Silva, Cesc, Xavi, and Iniesta as a midfield 4.

Ans Squicke, I don't rate Cesc as highly as an out and out AMF either, but I think Del Bosque will play him there.
