This must be the worst Argentina side in deceades. Yes you have Messi and Aguero, but you have too many players past their primes.

actually, I'd disagree. For Riquelme, it's just been a constant injury that has hurt his game, veron with both estudiantes & arg has performed really well. Cambiasso & Zanetti continue to be staple players at Inter along w/ Samuel who is still effective. The only real weak point is Insua do to inexperience but as it's a team game, as a whole they'd do better than maradona's choice of team.

Riquelme, Veron and Zanetti are too old for World Cup. I doubt they'll survive playing 3 games a week in a very competitive arena.

And Messi never plays the same level of football as in Barca for the national side.
