willieSo exciting to watch, & still beautiful in defeat.

FeriAtsI still remember this team, and the first impression they gave was "Oh, these guys have something missing for a Brazilian side". Much like Arsenal today, they were a joy to watch but you knew they would be beaten by anyone who means business.

nvrI am too young to remember this team but saw them on documentaries about World Cups. Socrates had the coolest looks of all times. Is it true that he is a doctor?

MontySocrates is indeed a fully qualified (chain-smoking) doctor, and one of the coolest people of all time.

Real shame they lost, even for the drama and romance of Italy's Cup win, because of the historical repercussions. The failure of this side is the reason behind the functional Brazil sides of today.

willieWhat's so incredible ( or surprising ) is the fact that this team was so very well conditioned. Despite all their fame & glory from attacking, they were great at getting back on defense, which allowed them to win the ball back and hold possession. What a fantastic team to watch, I wonder what it's like to actually play that way, must be heart-racing and joyous.

JimmyGuitaristYou can see so much of this 1982 Brazil squad in the current Barcelona squad.
