kabulblueThis team looks, injuries permitting, to be the side that Capello will utilize during the World Cup. I have gone for Lennon but please see him as interchangeable with Walcott. Effectively this was the set-up for the qualifiers and Capello does not see any reason to change, which is fair enough. What do people think of Capello's asymmetrical 4-4-2? I will post another formation which outlines my suggestion for a more fluid system.

FeriAtsEngland seem to fire better with a tall man up front. I don't see that changing either. But I am not sure about Heskey. We cannot afford a striker who doesn't score in the finals. Crouch, Zamora and Carlton Cole are all far better than him.

kabulblue@FeriAts...again! Crouch is in no way suited to the Heskey role but I see the arguments for Big Bad Bobby and Carlton Cole. I have posted another team to argue for a different set-up for England that focuses on possession and attacking through the middle and wide with pace see it here: http://this11.com/topics/show/2943/a-different-england

FeriAtsI know what you mean about Crouch. He does not offer any physical presence despite his height. But he has the best finishing among those guys. It will not be an easy decision for Capello.

ZolaIf Rooney does not recover from his injury, who would you think Capello will play in his place? The usual suspect is Defoe, but he doesn't seem to be in form lately.

kabulblueRooney will be fit. Although it is debatable if his excellent form would have held up. To be honest your question doesn't bare thinking about...we would be well and truly done!
