Proffessional_Ameteur_REDI really hope that Fergie trusts his players with the new (hernandez-4411, and doesn't revert to the 433 that he has previously used against the big sides. Look at Real Madrid. If you attempt to sit back and defend and only hit on the counter Barca will eventually find a way through, guaranteed. We have to attack, press high up the pitch and hope to get 40% possession. Carrick will be key in our efforts to keep the ball as well as launching counter attacking passes to Valencia on the wing, If Carrick decides to show up this time we have a chance. I believe Hernandez will be the difference this time around. United were missing an out and out goalscorer. But unlike Owen, this guy isn't scared to move away from the box to chase a ball. He will win it on the flank, hold it up, then make a cross or a pass to players rushing to support him, or fashion a shooting opportunity for himself. Giggs/Scholes is a hard choice, I'll leave it to Fergie. :/ Rooney is defensively key, he must stay tight on Busquets when we do not have the ball, deny them a failsafe pass and force barca into making a rare mistake under the high pressure.

My Subs would be Nani on at some point definitely, probably for Valencia. Scholes replace Giggs or Giggs replace Scholes. Then replace Carrick or Fletcher when they start to get tired.

If the whole team play well, the whole team press, and we are clinical in front of goal then we can do it. But it is some task for this United team (that many claim is one of Fergie's weakest title winning sides) to beat the supposed 'Best Team Ever'...

nvrSuch a defensive pair would not be able to stop Xavi and Iniesta at their tracks. Not only they are in top form, they also get tremendeous support from their forwards in play making.

Ferguson will probably ax Park and play Giggs, Scholes and Carrcik together.

Joe423I would definitely go with this formation. United tried to play on the break in Rome, and got outclassed. We need to play to our strengths, as it's a one of game. We also have Hernandez, who's pace and movement could cause that dodgy Barcelona backline tons of problems. Rooney will drop onto Busquets when we lose possesion.

Also, why would we get rid of Park, who's energy will really get at the Barcelona midfield. If we play Scholes, he could get sent of as he is rash and he doesn't have the energy to compete in that midfield, if anything we would bring back Fletcher

Proffessional_Ameteur_REDFletcher doesn't look like he is going to be match fit in time :( But at least Carrick has found some form again.
