thebeautifulgame11I personally would prefer Chelsea to buy Aguero, Moutinho and Thiago Alcantara. 3 young guys are surely going to increase the pace and agility of a Chelsea squad which has most of it's players over the side of 30. These 3 choices are made in considering the present squad in mind. An overhaul of the entire is impossible and highly unadvisable. They will fit in being the boottomline is why I have selected the 3.
Aguero is a perfect fit along with considering he can play as a striker who can support Torres. He can play the ball on his own , attack deep into the oppositon's defence and also provide to the hungry striker lurking close to goal. Both of them having played together at Atletico Madrid can only help matters to get better. However with he appearing to be closing on Juve, Chelsea have to perform a trick to bring him to Stamford Bridge. AVB's preference for Falcao might also not support this cause.
Moutinho might be a surprising choice for many of you but surely he is an apt choice. He isn't a youngster but bloomed into a central midfielder who can play in any midfield postion, including the flanks and as an attacking or holding . Perfect to Chelsea because of the fact that at Chelsea there isn't a real midfield and ost of them play in rotating postions. His box-to-box dynamism is impressive and he could be a wonderful midfielder for Chelsea.
Thiago Alcantara needs to no introduction after his freekick in the final of the u21Euro 2011 sealed Spain's win. A look at the free kick and surely you would want this kid to be on your side. Currently at Barca this lad plays in a CM position. He attacks, he attacks and scores. Chelsea needs someone who can make the CM position his own. Any Thiago can be a perfect fit. With Chelsea's freekick specialist Lampard and Drogba , both no younger than 33 thiago could fit into that role as well. At 19 he could be the youngster Chelsea have been missing. An increase in his buyout clause from ₤30million to ₤90million could be AVB's reason to forgo the young lad.

nvrHow are Chelsea going to buy all these players? I can't imagine Abramovic dishing out another £100M after Torres' unconvincing displays.

thebeautifulgame11£100M?? 3 players are not not gonna cost you so much..Torres needs someone like Aguero to support him on the field.

Aidan0sThiago isn't really realistic he just signed a new contract and there is no way barcelona would be willing to sell a Masia graduate on the periphery of the team who deputises well whenever called upon and they dont want another Fabregas.
Also I think Aguero will end up at Juventus(who have more money than one would expect) they seem confident of getting him and they were the only one's who expressed an interest.
Moutinho is very realistic.
I do agree that they would really improve the team and especially help torres
These players would also surely not cost 100 million aguero's buy out clause is 45 million and the other two would cost nowhere near 55 million

nvrDidn't Barca sign a contract extension with Thiago and put a release clause of 90M Euro?

thebeautifulgame11@Aidan0s .. Thanks mate.. Right words from you.. Thiago is someone who ll need time to break regularly into the A team. With Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets and Fabregas lurking close to a Barca return, Thiago will need another 2-3 yeras to be playing for Barca. If he is patient good for Barca, else it's good for the other teams. Aguero might be going to Juve and that's why i mentioned Chelsea need to perform a trick to get him to the Bridge.

SanzAs a Liverpool fan i can tell you Torres is better on his own than with another striker. See his partnerships with Villa, Keane and Drogba. If he has a partner it should be a player like Gerrard or Benayoun - a creative support player who will feed him with through balls. It would be a waste to spend £40m on Aguero or Falcao when they would only get in his way. A £90m partnership that doesn't complement each other is plainly a bad idea. Aguero does have a creative side but it's not his best quality. At a push someone like Kuyt will work because he can create extra space for Torres to work in.

Knowing that Chelsea are rooted in 4-3-3 and have struggled to move away from that, and that Villas Boas played 4-3-3 at Porto, while Lampard performs best in a three and Torres performs best as the lone central striker, it seems strange to change to 4-1-3-2.

Chelsea need the creative players to service Torres. They need players better at playing between the lines. If i were them i'd be looking at the likes of Modric, Nasri and Mata as options before Falcao or Aguero.

Villas Boas has obviously impressed me from his job at Porto, but if he went for Falcao at a point when Chelsea already have too many central strikers it would strike me as an odd move and leave me more doubtful over him than before.

thebeautifulgame11I certainly like your suggestion of Modric, Nasri, Mata. One of Modric and Nasri might end up at Chelsea. The point of changing it to 4-1-3-2 was someone to play the ball to Torres while keeping the midfield strong. This gives more opputunity for the LB and RB to attack on the flanks which surely does make the defence vulnerable but teh CDM is the one hwo will push back. Ashley Cole certainly loves being in that position while I am not convinced Ivanovic can handle that. Still gunning for it so that Chelsea can play on the attack which definitely is required.

I still prefer AVB sticks to 4-3-3 but Chelsea will need to weed out certain players before they can start it over again..
