Notice Johnson as a winger (think Gareth Bale) and the diamond formation for defense, since Adams is playing a very defensive mid-field position. Just an idea for an intresting starting eleven formation. Obviously Carragher or Skrtel can be replaced by Kelley, Henderson or Lucas can come in for Adams or Gerrard, and Maxi can fill in for either Kuyt or Johnson.Raul Meireles can be more of a utility man. What I attempted to do here is create a very offensive team based off of Carroll's height with Johnson's and Downing's attacking ability (Johnson being a winger as an "experiment") with a second attacking threat from Suarez and Kuyt in their more natural positions, with Gerrard being a last line of offense with his long range shots. Gerrard and Adams in this formation are in their more "natural roles as well, adding a passing element to the side. I think this side is very deadly offensively, but possibly very wobbly at defense, though the Christmas tree formation does provide a lot of strength in the middle of the pitch(a place that many say games are won and lost in). Any comments on this? Just trying to bring in a fresh idea
Charlie Adam is the name. Carragher doesn't have the legs to be a lone cb and Skrtel is too slow on the turn to be an rb. Like the top half though.
