Dr FaustusFriedrich is great, but always injured now. Mertesacker can be really good, but has some off-days. Plus, he's currently longterm-injured, too.

They might both come back til 2012. At least Mertesacker still has a good chance. But currently, it looks more like we'll get to see 2 defenders out of Hummels, Höwedes, Boateng and Badstuber.

Rest is fine, except that Podolski is currently struggling to keep his place. Schürrle, Götze and Kroos are his main competitors. Podolski has to play a good season and keep on delivering in international games if he wants to keep his spot.
