Dr FaustusUpper half (white & black shirts): Starting formation
Lower half (green shirts): Bench team

Marin might make the squad instead of Reus. Depends on their upcoming seasons. Götze might make the first team (maybe instead of Schürrle), if he continues to develope as quickly as he recently has.

david1993serder tasci if he develops more is another option and marko marin and lewis holtby are gud young players and shudnt be ruled out yet

02.08.2011

Dr FaustusI don't rate Tasci very much. He would have to develope MUCH more to have a chance in the national team. I'm more looking forward to young central defenders such as Wollscheid, Rüdiger and Günter to join the established ones in the next few years.

Lewis Holtby is a very good player, but competition on his position is really, really tough. He's good enough to make the squad, but right now, there's just no place for him. He's currently captain of the U21 side and I think he'll stay with them until the next U21 Euro. That means he will most likely become an option for the senior NT after 2012. Might make the World Cup 2014 squad.

Marin, well. He might take Reus' place in the team. He's good enough. But he has stagnated a bit recently, while Reus has continued to deliver, even at a minor team like Mönchengladbach. I could see the battle of them going either way, but Marin has to finally take the next step. At Bremen or somewhere else.

david1993ok i understand wat ur sayin and ur are german fella so u no more about german national team than wat i would i just go on what i see which i dnt see much of german league

02.08.2011

Dr FaustusYea, Holtby and Marin are good suggestions though. They're both good enough to be part of the national team. Problem is that there's just so many great players in their positions now.

If it was 2006 or even 2008, and Marin and Holtby would be at their current age, they would definitely be part of the team. But with Özil, Götze, Müller, Schürrle etc. it's just so tough to get in now.

02.08.2011

david1993ther german youths are very talented and people only go on about the spanish youth players

the german players are chaper than english and spanish

example. ozil 12million he is amaizng
khedira 12 million
and
nuri sahin player of year and 9 million most teams shud look at the german league for players dnt no why they dont

03.08.2011

Aidan0sConsidering Germany is clearly a team on the up it is very frightening to be in their group for the world cup qualifiers (even though at any stage in history Germany would be clear favorites to beat Ireland the prospect of being ripped apart is not good)
Im just hoping sweden aren't too good in qualifying.

03.08.2011

david1993ireland have few players up coming
coleman mccarthy and few others ireland shudnt be beatin germany put with a crowd behind them u nevr no wit the irish they will try their best hopefully they can qualify

05.08.2011

Dr FaustusIf Götze continues to play the way he recently has and keeps up with the STEADY improvement he's displayed for almost a year now, I think he should make the first team come Euro 2012.

He'll be too good to be just a replacement for Özil. Infact, he's too good for that right now. I could see a Götze - Özil - Müller line starting in the offensive midfield.

08.08.2011

david1993i have seen a lot of goetze over last few years for borussia and germany u-21 i first saw him u-17 and he looked class then
i wanted unted to sign him but that aint goin happen goetze is class

goetze and thiago alcantara are 2 the best young midfileders in the world

08.08.2011

Dr FaustusSo, Götze had his first appearance as a starter for Germany and had a pretty good game against Brazil, including a goal.

He's getting closer to that starting spot if he keeps this up throughout the season and maybe even improves. He's improved alot since last season already.

On another note, Klose affirmed my choice. He was much better than Gomez (each played 1 half). Klose just fits the system much better than Gomez, who's too clumsy and has no footballing brains. Gomez is just a pure poacher who can't really link up with technically skilled midfielders.

13.08.2011

chicarooneyGotze and Mertesacker should be in the first 11 but Mertesacker injured himself and is out for the season.

20.02.2012

chicarooneyAlso Gomez is better than Klose.

20.02.2012

G.K.Gomez is the better instinctive finisher, but Klose is much better for the team, Gomez doesn't link up as well.

Mertesacker is inferior to Hummels, Boateng and Howedes, but if fit should definitely come along as 4th choice CB.

I'd like to see Schwaab make the step up to backup full back, and Beck to play at RB ahead of Howedes who's better in the middle.

There are so many talented players in the CM/AM/Winger department that it is hard to see who should be dropped. Gotze vs Schurrle is impossible to choose between.
