JamieIn my opinion this should be the england team at euro 2012 and heres why..
Joe Hart-Speaks for itself really
Cole-Top 3 left back in world in my opinion
Rio-Over terry due to more mobility and much faster in my opinion JT's days been and gone
Cahill-Consistent quality prem performer and will only get better over the coming year
Richards-Alot better than smalling in my opinion faster, stronger, better energy Smalling will get exposed at top international level 100% believe me.
Wilshere-Essential along with Clev for retaining the ball and dominating possession, best young ball playing midfielder in the world.
Cleverly-Already shown for Manchester United his game is about focusing on keeping possession ticking over, did it finely against spurs and arsenal with around 90% pass completion rate, will get better as year goes on aswell.
S.Gerrard-Proven complete midfielder but i like him in this attacking role due to his energy and long range shooting. Lampard arguably better in this position but i just think he's to old now.
Johnson-Cut in from right, best dribbler in england team, would produce quality performances if playing consistently very fast aswell
Young-Cut in from left, great dribbler and very dangerous cutting in with his right foot very fast aswell
Rooney-Speaks for himself world class player would drop deep to help maintain possession and look to create space and oppourtunities.

Overall i have picked a team based on attributes i feel that are essential to have to play good 'tournament football' as you can see there no slow player in the team the wingers are very fast and dangerous, the 2 midfielders are quality at keeping possession the full backs are very fast, the Central defense is fairly fast and both are mobile the CAM and CF are interchangeable and both can excel in these roles, i.e gerrard bursting in the box to look for through balls from rooney dropping deep.
The attributes you need to be a good tournament team are:
Adaptablity-This team i feel can adapt perfectly to both possession and counterattacking.
Mobility/Pace-This team has no slow players and all are mobile
Unpredictability-This team can change ways of playing in accordance with the opponent very well

mojojojo101Personally I don't see Capello dropping both Barry and Parker, in my opinion they are both crap but yeh, he also seems to dislike Richards for some reason.

Personally I think it would be better for Rooney to play behind Bent. That way he can be allowed to play a free-role and England can maintain a direct goal-threat in Bent. Getting the best out of Rooney is the most important thing for England and why repeat the mistake of not playing him in the same role he is playing in at club level.

Frankly I've dismissed the possibility of England winning this Euro Champs. The more interesting topic is what will hapen afterwards, obviously Capello is leaving but who will the FA bring in and will they actually do the decent thing and drop the old guard who have consistently dissapointed in order to bring through the young players who Capello has refused to give chances to.

JimmyGuitaristAs much as I'd like us to atleast be inspired by the way the Spanish are doing it, we're not going to be playing like that with Capello as our manager. It's not the brand of football he gets us to play. He's an Italian who gets us to play a cross between traditional English long-ball, and Italian counter-attacking football. He should've been sacked after the World Cup.
This is how I want us to line-up -
