soccwiz11this is my prediction for barcelona's starting xi for 12-13 season. it is basically almost the same as last year but i do not think that they need to change a lot. of course new signing alba has come in the left back role. now barca have two attacking fullbacks, so i think we need a new strong centre-back. upfront instead of fabregas we can also have villa, but fabregas should fit the position pretty well.

I think Barca do need a new centre-back for rotation, especially now Puyol will most likely be in & out.

JimmyGuitaristIf Barcelona get any centre-back worth as much as Thiago Silva, I'd rather them get Javi Martinez. But Barcelona have 3 brilliant centre-backs already. Puyol will most likely be in & out, but Mascherano was one of Barca's best performers last season. The only thing you could say about having a Pique-Mascherano pairing is they both like diving into tackles a bit more which can be risky with no one covering. But, I think spending that much on a defender could be a bit hasty when they already have brilliant players there.
