TheNearPostFelt a little nostalgic. The first half saw the U.S. undone (at least) twice because the space in front of their defense wasn't guarded.Slovenia found all kinds of joy running at a back four that had experienced all kinds of injury/fitness issues, and neither Torres or Bradley was really offering proper cover. The space was exploited first by Birsa, then by Novakovic. Since then, we've seen Juergen Klinsmann tidy up this part of the U.S. by playing a designated defensive midfielder to sweep in front of the back four.
