RedrebelI chose this formation because I believe that in this team a back 4 is not needed because the defensive midfielders will stay defensive which means back 3 will have support. In the offensive part I put Ronaldinho as left attacking midfielder and Kaka as right attacking midfielder. I chose this two players because they get along very well and know each other to perfection. In the strike zone I put 3 strikers. Main striker, left striker, and right striker. The way this works is simple. When crosses come in depending on what side Adriano will go for his post, Zatlan will go for his post, and Trezeguet will be in the middle. An example is Ronaldinho beats his man and crosses a ball from the left side. Adriano will go to first post to score the goal, but the ball is too high or too fast and misses. Than the cross goes through the middle and Trezeguet tries to get a shot, but misses. Than, the cross will go the right, but Zatlan is going to be there and than he strikes and there's a goal. Having three strikers increases the chances of scoring goals as you can see in this example. A lot of you are going to argue that width play will kill this formation, but the trick is the defensive midfielders will remain defensive which means that when there is an attack on the side one of the center-backs goes for the challenge and one defensive midfielder covers up the center-back's position. So, the last line will be technically be a back 5. An example is: Kaka is attacking and loses the ball to the opponents outside midfielder. Now, we are on defense. The question is who is going to go for the challenge? And the answer is De Rossi or Javier Zanetti. So, Zanetti goes for the challenge and than the question is who is going to cover up his place? The answer is De Rossi. Now, you can see that playing with a back 3 is as safe as playing with back 4 or back 5.
