I think I prefer the way Liverpool actually play with Alonso alongside Mascherano to shield the defense because Kuyt and Riera aren't good enough to help out defending the wings. For me, Alonso for Keane. Job done. ;-)
You wonder why with 2 decent centre backs and 2 shielding midfielders Liverpool don't invest in some forward thinking full backs. Arbeloa and especially Dossena have been total wank so far.
