Schneider(LM) is left midfielder and Schweinsteiger(RM)is right midfielder but they are not attacking midfielder. Ballack(CAM)is centre attacking midfielder, of course he is attacking midfielder. 2 strikers are Gomez and klose.
this formation is real . also Joachim Law is a head coach for Germany National Team uses this formation from 4 september 2008 at (FIFA World cup 2010 qualifiers) to present.

Robert O'CarlosI'd probably describe it more as a 4-1-3-2, almost a 4-4-2 with 1 midfielder (Frings) looking to sit back. Not quite sure how Löw sees his midfield but Ballack is more of a playmaker for the national team and Schweinsteiger more of an attacking player (although he often seems frustrated at having to keep wide). From what I can tell they like to move the midfield forward fairly uniformly.
