I can't fault you for including him, but Cruyff wouldn't make my list. Of course he should be on the list, but he was always a grumpy sod, and I've never been one for bucking the unspoken fair play rules in the game, so his famous laid off penalty annoyed me.

From a personal point of view, Maldini and Keane would probably get a place on my list.

FeriAtsIt's very interesting that Zidane made his name relatively late. He was 24 when Bordeaux made it to UEFA cup final from Intertoto. Arsene Wenger, who knows every footballer in France and their mothers did not even recommend him to Arsenal. He was still buyable till France 98 from Juventus, but Wenger didn't consider him. And then came France's first World Cup wind and the rest is history.
