Saintozi'm managing Germany and i just created this formation so i wanna ask for ya opinions and take on this, i'm trying to break away from the mainstream 442 and 433 tactics and stuff.

Note.
GK Hildebrand, M.Neuer, Lehmann and Rost.T

DF Metzelder, Huth, Ramelow, Worns, Lahm, Friedrich, Jensen, Fritz, Per Mertesacker

MF Frings, Borowski, Ballack, Schneider, Hitzlsperger, Schweinsteiger, Odonkor, a few others i forgot

ST Klose, Gomez, Podolski, Neuville, Kuranyi, a few others i forgot

This is more or less the squad i prepared so give me ya opinions, and btw i think in the tactic Hizlsperger seems out of position is he??

ZolaThat looks like a diamond 4-4-2 to me. Its success depends on the DM, Frings in your case.

The teams that employ this formation tend to be very attack minded. Good defenders who can cover vast areas. Counter attacks will be your achilles heel.

Saintozso is this right tactic to really employ if not then should Frings be used or other defensive midfielders? Or to withdraw Frings all the way back and replace him with another CB and pull Ballack and Hizlsperger more back to balance it

ZolaDepends on the opposition. Against stronger teams, you can pull one or two of the MFs back a bit.

Saintozgood point but i'm trying to test this tactic against Paraguay and they are weak at defending against Aerial Attacks so virtually the best opportunity to score is during corners and like what u say Counter attacking is the achiles heel of this formation so that where i'm worried if the corner screw up and the counter attacking the defense may not be able to hold especially if the CB forward for the corner

ZolaWell you can arrange your fastest player to be your last man during set pieces.

Saintozlol what if he can't defend????? it's as good as not having any one unless get someone to hold up the ball or slow down the counterattacking so that the defense can retreat in time

10.06.2009

ZolaGet a fast player who can defend :) Or commit a tactical foul, preferably early on or else you'll get a red card.

SaintozLOL u want me to help my players to commit a foul, LOL but your points are really worth pondering over

Robert O'Carlosshouldn't matter if it was in the first minute, if you commit a tactical foul, you'll be down a man
