MauberleyThis is a phase in 4-3-3 in fact. You have the centre forward who comes deep, drawing a centre-back with him, then the two wingers can exploit the vulnerability of the remaining centre-back.

If the idea is to keep the wingers up fron the whole time, then it's more of a diamond variant but requires excellent passing from the deeper lying players for it to be effective : unless Joe and Mika are big strapping centre-forwards, in which case the formations boils down to a 4-4-2 in any case!
