kabulblueI know there are still three games left but I think this team is pretty much sorted in my mind regardless of the outcomes of the next matches.

Some of the selections are debatable but I have tried to look at players from across the tournament. And yes there is a European bias as I think overall they have been better than their counterparts from Africa, Asia and South, Central and North America (and New Zealand).

I have also taken the liberty of selecting Lahm at left-back in order to select Ramos. I know he has been playing for Germany at right-back but he is equally good on either side so it is irrelevant anyway.

ZolaI would probably have Ozil in this squad instead of Sneijder. Not that Sneijder is bad, but Ozil has been just brilliant.

Had Stekelenburg not conceded that goal from Forlan, he would have been my first choice keeper.

kabulblueOzil has been good but not as good as Sneijder. 5 goals in 6 games does not lie. He has a good shout of being selected European and/or World Player of the Year next season.

kabulblueI also had to select a player from both Brazil and Portugal because I think defensively they were excellent for 3-4 games even if they eventually flattered to deceive.

There was also a possibility of me selecting Kuyt, who has been excellent, and Robben, who has been crucial. I think that Neuer in goal has been great also and you could argue for Coentrao at left-back too with Lahm at right-back.

Some though: Sneijder, Villa, Schwein, Forlan, Lahm are unarguable in my book.

nvrAs a relative unknown, Ozil's perfomance has attracted a lot of attention. But he was nowhere to be seen against Spanish midfield, so it's safe to say that he's a level below the likes of Iniesta, Xavi, Sneijder. Of course he's young and he might improve.
