Sniped SniperSong & Diaby can drop back to form a defensive midfield duo (hence 4-2-2-2) and help Koscielny & Squillaci when Sagna and Clichy run forward to play wider and get the ball out on the wings.
Fabregas and Nasri link passes between Diaby & Song and Vela & Chamakh when on the attack, who can spread out and run wider to receive passes from Sagna & Clichy as well.

nvrI am afraid Vela is not developing into the striker we all hope to see. His performance was abysmal against Spurs yesterday, and it was a sub par Spurs team to be honest. I won't be surprised if Wenger offloads him at the end of this season.

RossTC4Totally agree with nvr. Vela isn't half the player Wenger told us he would be.
Rumour has it Arsene's got him training as a Left Winger, would benefit him hugely.
Replace Vela for v. Persie, Diaby for Wilshere and Squillaci for Vermaelen and it'll be the future of Arsenal.

mrman23Don't you mean Wilshere for Fàbregas, as surely he can't still be seen as a realistic option for Arsenal's future?
