danmartiGiven current injury status, and Arsenal's strength in technical midfield players, a diamond formation may be the best way to get the team back on track. As the team already relies heavily on fullbacks for width, a diamond formation would not cause too much disruption. In addition, Wilshere's tendency to drift to the right and Rosicky's to drift left can be used defensively to track opposing fullback raids. The team will also be less vilnerable to counterattacks down the centre as they will have a greater midfield presence. Song will revert to a more orthodox holding role while van Persie playing as a false nine will drag defenders out to give space to Walcott cutting in from the right (or alternately Arshavin cutting in from the left)

Should the team be faced with a narrow deep defence, one of the central midfielders can be substituted for a wide player (in this scenario probably Wilshere for Arshavin) and Arsenal go 433 with a holder and 2 playmakers in midfield.
