nvrA very decent keeper, say Buffon and two decent center backs, one with quick feet, like Puyol(I know not possible) and one with ball skills like Mertesacker.
I wouldn't change formation or tactics.

SSDDSince this is purely hypothetical, I'd bring in the players I think would best suit our team, regardless of their availability.
I believe we've decent options for a keeper, the full backs are also covered. I'd bring someone like Sakho as a CB. I khow he's the french Micah Richards, but Wenger can turn any athlete into a football player, so I'm sure he'll develop into a great defender at the Arsenal.
I'd also take De Rossi- he's strong, very determined, relatively quick, would be the perfect B2B midfielder for us and he's scored some pretty decent goals from long range too.
And the third player I'd bring... We need a clinical finisher. Someone to convert all the chances we create each game. Someone like Eduardo, only stronger (both physically and mentally) and less injury prone. But also a player, who can create chances himself. I think Milito or Eto'o of last season would be perfect.
Now who do I want to get rid of... Well... most of our players are only contributing to the wage bill, but the worst IMO are Denilson (below average, can't shoot, can't pass, can't head; can dance but who cares?), Diaby (mentally weak, can't head to save his life, despite he's ten feet tall, injury prone and inconsistent) and Persie. I love RvP, but it's better to have someone who can play more that 10 games per season, we're paying him some prtty penny aftr all.

nvrReally? Do we have decent options for a keeper? Other title contenders are playing with Cech, Van der Saar and Joe Hart. Pepe Reina, Shay Given, Brad Friedel and Craig Gordon are other better keepers than Fabianski I can count.
Our keeper situation is just mind boggling. Had we had someone decent, we could have won the title at least twice in the last five seasons.

SSDDI stand by what I said. We have decent keepers. Not great ones, but these would do the trick, plus we're all expecting them to develop. Our defensive problems come from errors, made by midfielders and defenders. And Wenger, of course. We need to add some stability there, start scoring one goal for every three good opportunities and we're there.
What I really am afraid of is a drop in Fabianski's form, now that he spanish waiter is on his way out ot this team. But with Sneezy breathing down his neck, he should be able to find motivation.
