BuzzSports- It's unlikely that Arsenal will set out solely to get in the face of Barcelona, as has been suggested by Wilshere and Song this week. Nevertheless, each of their roles will be key, not just in breaking down attacks, but also in ensuring good distribution. Wilshere in particular will probably be key. Expect also Fabregas to tuck in deeper to ensure midfield triangles to try and wrest control. Teams have enjoyed some success trying to mark Messi man to man, he is too elusive to control zonally and Song would be a prime candidate for this role.
- Eboue is a safer option than Sagna at full back, as Villa will drift to the left hand channels.
- The left flank is probably Arsenal's weakest area. Arshavin is likely to drift inside leaving only Clichy to deal with Alves and, potentially, Xavi drifting into the space. Arshavin will have to be uncharacteristically disciplned if this is to be avoided, and Rosicky might be a better option.
-Conversely, Walcott represents Arsenal's best outlet, particularly as he will be facing up to Maxwell. If he can pin him back, and avoid Abidal who is athletic enough to offer his full back decent cover, then he could well find the edge needed.
