Aidan0s1. I feel there is no need to explain the inclusions of casillas, marcelo, carvalh, and pepe
2. Altintop is right back as he has played there before and is far better offensively than arbeloa.
3. Ramos is in midfield instead of Pepe because of his supperior passing skills and the fact he his more comfortable on the ball
4. Sahin is instead of alonso because he is A. simply better and b. more mobile
5. granero is selected instead of Khedira and Lass as he is more mobile than khedira and better offensively at everything than both and will allow the team to retain possession and has excellent long passing which can be helpful for switching the play over to di maria
6. Kaka is selected over ozil and ronald has he wins the ball back more often than both and retains possession better than ronaldo while being more of a goal threat than ozil.
7 Di maria is there as he is the only attacking player at madrid who will cover alves and still cause alves alot of problems
8 Benzema is there because he retains possession better than ronaldo and higuain and more of a goal threat than ozil and works harder than all of them aswell
1. Id like the defense to remain compact but still have the fullbacks pushing up pedro and villa occasionally let the full backs get away from them and when they do follow them messi pushes up and id like ramos to follow him which is a good situation as you can have healthy balance of offence and defence as there wont be gaps as the other defenders will cover.
2 Id like ramos to stay close to messi while also trying to set the platform for madrids attacks and occasionally surging far forward as i dont think messi will follow him too deep
3. Sahin should mainly focus on lessening xavi's influence on the game and try to impose himself on it like he did against Schweinsteiger twice this year although xavi would be a more difficult task.
4 I expect granero to try and stop iniesta while also providing an option in attack and trying to switch the play over to di maria
5 Kaka would be instructed to loosely pick busquets up but mainly providing a passing option to the other midfielders which is a problem alot of teams have against barca is that they win the ball back in midfield but they dont have any passing options
6 Di maria would cover alves while hugging the touchline and cutting less than usual
7.benzema would pretty much do exactly what villa does for barca
The team should try and build slowly from the back with so many players al ready playing deep allowing all the players to be involved offensively as even though xavi iniesta messi pedro and villa work hard if they have to defend deeper than usual and they cant exactly read the game like maldini
even though if possible madrid should try and break quickly to catch them off guard and madrid would be less predictable than usual
p.s Ronaldos impressive goal tally does not warrant him a place on this team as he is too defensively weak and also positionally indisciplined aswell as constanly losing the ball
id be curious as to what other people think there teams should do beat barca

Aidan0sI dont care aif there is any grammatical mistakes i had to write it twice and the this one is the shorter version aswell asposting it twice because i didnt put in the formation the first time

Joe423Altintop at right back would be suicide. He may be better offensively, but Real wouldn't have the ball enough to make use of that, and Pedro and Villa would slaughter him in a 1 on 1 situation.
Ramos in Pepe's position would be interesting, but Pepe was used their originally as his energy meant he could easily get around and combat Barca's lightweight midfield.
Kaka has lost it, if you were going to play this false nine formation, Ozil would be a much better bet.
Finally on the subject of Ronaldo. You would need him. He could physically and airily dominate who ever Barca put at left or right back. His pace and ability would leave Barcelona slightly deeper and more cautious, and as reals strategy would be to counter attack, his pace and finishing (and his goal scoring ratio) would be needed as they would need to score in the 2-3 chances they will get.

Aidan0sOk fair enough that if altintop was in 1 on opportunities with altintop they would get the better of him but villa was causing arbeloa alot of problems too. and the fact that with this team they would keep alot more possesion than they did this season so he would be more involved than you'd originally expect. Marcelo was some way involved in the three goals madrid scored this year (won the penalty, played a one two with di maria so di maria could set up the copa del rey goal and he scored in the last game.
So if Marcelo was that involved in the games altintop could be very useful especially when madrid would have more possession
I wouldn't be totally dismissive of kaka as there was a number of games this year where he was very good valencia athletic bilbao etc and he is definately more of a goal threat than ozil he scored 3 less goals in a quarter of the time
Ok ronaldo's aerial prowess could be useful especially if because a source of danger for barcelona is di maria down the left who could put in some dangerous crosses and ronaldo is far superior to benzema or kaka in the air which is actually what i think benzema's biggest weakness is but they would definately have less of the ball if he played he is too direct and Ronaldo's speed wont cause them to defend deeper (well at least it shouldn't as he doesn't stay on the shoulder of the last man or time his runs to get in behind the defense particularly well and reals strategy wouldn't be to counter attack as i even say i want them to build slowly from the back the majority of the time

Aidan0sAlthough I respect your opinion as your argument is an intelligent one

nvrDo we have a date for the next Barca-RM game? I guess it won't be before at least 3-4 months. Isn't it a bit premature to discuss this now?

JimmyGuitaristMadrid are petrified of Barcelona. The only way they can beat them it seems is by using dogged, dirty tactics. It makes me laugh how everyone turned against Barcelona after that match when it was just so clear who started with the dirty tactics in that match. Madrid started it, Barca responded.
It's because of Jose Mourinho. You need a footballing manager who actually gets his team to win through playing football. When he comes up against a good team, the tactics he uses are awful.

ars4nalI don't think Madrid would drop Ronaldo, nor should they. He just scored 52 goals in a season, I think that should merit a starting place

phoenixhazardLOL! No Ronaldo? HAHAHHAHA, he is their best player and probably the 2nd best player in the world

chioSahin and Granero won't really work. Iniesta and Xavi would absolutely slaughter them, like they did with for example Carrick and Giggs in the Champions League final. Someone like Lass Diarra or Khedira is certainly more suited for taking out players, even though they're not the best passers.
And why is Nuri Sahin better than Xabi Alonso? The former is certainly a good player, but he isn't a better tackler nor a better passer than Alonso. Especially passing is important to execute quick counter attacks.
Furthermore Ronaldo HAS to play, arguments have already been said by others. He should play on the left-side as Alves is defensively more prone than Abidal and would be more catious with his forward runs.
Letting Ramos do the dirty job against Messi is certainly interesting but I think he is much more vulnurable defensively than Pepe. Nevertheless it could work.
