delboy_lfcthis would be the line-up for the game in a fortnight, assuming that:
- suarez will be rested (though not too sure about that one since gerrard is missing...)
- aurelio & agger won't be fit (like most of the time)
- gerrard is out (as of today it has been confirmed)
- carroll is nowhere near the starting 11 & is on his best way to win the title of the biggest transfer flop of all times!
- aquilani will (unfortunately) be leaving (at least his agent is doing his best to make his return impossible)

that would leave us with the bench consisting of 5 of these players:
doni, ayala, flanagan, spearing, maxi, carroll, cole, shelvey, robinson, kyriagkos.

if our selection remain like this i think the game vs. sunderland will be a really tough task. they've
signed some decent playersfor mr. pig head it's the game of the season playing against us.

i'll be updating this thread with news on injuries and availability (transfers etc.)

nvrWere Liverpool that relaxed in the pre-season with Dalglish last time around? They don't seem to be building up form to me. Granted some of their key players are either still in holidays or injured, yet there's not much time left.

awitendenI think carroll will start up fromt and kuyt on the wing. Doubt that carroll will not be played, he is a strong forward with power and a heading ability perfect for a 4-3-3 formation, so why would you put kuyt up front, he is competent at these things but not as good as andy in those categories.

SanzWe don't need you to update us to tell us you were clueless delboy!

- Suarez returns to training on Monday and may possibly be involved. He should be fit and raring to go after the Copa America finished not long ago.
- Aurelio and Agger both started the last pre-season friendly against Valencia and all being well will start on Saturday. That said i wouldn't bet my house on them staying fit until then, i grant you.
- Skrtel conversely is injured.
- Carroll scored in each of the last two pre-season friendlies against Valerenga and Valencia. It's a bit shameful of any so-called Liverpool supporter to write off a player after only 6 games during which he was struggling with injury and fitness (though still he tore the joint-best defence in the league apart, in Man City).
- Aquilani is still here and started our last pre-season friendly against Valencia. Didn't do a lot to guarantee his place against Sunderland mind.
- Henderson won't play on the right of a front 3. He can play as a central, attacking or right midfielder but wouldn't be well suited as a right forward. If the above formation were 4-2-3-1 it would be more realistic.
- Oh and there's 7 subs available in 2011 mate! You've forgotten Ngog by the way. Aurelio, Agger, Enrique?, Gerrard, Aquilani and Suarez would leave the squad fairly strong as well.

Expected lineup:

Reina
Johnson Carragher Agger Aurelio
Lucas Adam
Kuyt Aquilani/Hendo Downing
Carroll

Subs: Doni, Kyrgiakos, Kelly, Spearing, Aquilani/Henderson, Maxi, Suarez/Ngog

Possible that Johnson might be out as he has a knock but it's not too bad. Meireles could be involved also but he's only just returned from an injury and missed a lot of pre-season, so i think the players who are fit will be preferred.
