Janne HThis was our XI against Arsenal. The worst defensive play in years. Tell me what you think about our team and how you rate our players.

ZolaI feel we are becoming a bit too much like Arsenal. You know they always play beautiful football, but get trashed in big games because they try to play beautiful football.

Being a little bit more defensive can go a long way against teams like Manchester United, Arsenal and such.

JimmyGuitaristThat's not the problem. I like what Andre Villas-Boas is trying with Chelsea, but he's trying it with players who are accustomed to playing a solid defensive style of play.
You're not playing 'beautiful'. You're just trying to, and it doesn't come straight away. I think Andre will definitely be looking for some new midfielders in January.

ZolaWell, I guess my point still stands. We could be more balanced in big games.

Janne H..i just wonder how you cant see our weakness. Three goals from our right side...bosingwas side! Why we need to suffer cause of him? Please tell me something good reason for that cause i dont see any sense about allowing three because of him and how many did he create for us today?....none. Look those goals and think about luiz or iva in his place. Those lads plays their heart out and never stop running, he is not good enough. He is always out of position, iva n luiz are mutch more reliable. Im so sick of hearing how good he is...he is not good.

ZolaI don't see how Luiz have helped. We all saw he can let us down quite badly last week against QPR. Now had we had a more reliable central defender, I wouldn't mind having Ivanovic at the RB, intstead of Bosingwa. You know, to bring that balance I am talking about.

mojojojo101Not a Chelsea fan but Chelsea's problem's at the moment are essentially a clash between what the manager wants and the personnel he has available.

Playing a high line when your centre-backs are Terry and Ivanovic is never going to end well, both are pretty slow especially in comparison to the Arsenal front line. I think this is somewhere David Luiz can help.

While David Luiz has looked unconfident in the air since joining Chelsea he is quick and reads the game pretty well, using him alongside one of Terry/Ivanovic/Alex may make it easier for Chelsea to stop teams easily creating 1 on 1's with Cech.

Either way come January/next Summer I think an overhaul of Chelsea's back line is in order with some younger defenders with a bit of pace coming in. And a replacement for Bosingwa ofc who despite having looked good(ish) this season is definately prone to some stupid defending.

Janne HLuiz made a rash challenge but he is 100times more solid in Defense...actually Bosingwa never is in defense and thats the problem, always late. Our CB:s are good and we have best defenders playing when there is Luiz-terry-iva-Cole, it doesnt matter where they play but i believe Iva in CB and Luiz RB would be best solution. You cant bleme slow CB from errors Bosingwa made. He has to keep his posession. Ivanovic is good but like yesterday he was in deep shit cause Bosingwa.

nvrArsenal fan here(as if you can't tell). The biggest difference seemed to be the lack of physical dominance that Chelsea had on us. Normally Essien would have owned the midfield's ass and Drogba made our defenders look like schoolboys. None of it happened yesterday.

The worse of Chelsea's back four was Cashley(to much of my delight). He played RVP on in the first goal, was conclusively beaten at Gervinho's miss and Walcott's goal. These have been what kept us in the game.
