The_Emperor5My striker now turns into a centre-forward (or secondary striker). My wingers or inner forwards will move down in the attack when they see the opportunity. My CB's stay in position guarding the back four and supporting when necessary.

My "Deep Lying Playmaker" now turns into my main man in the offense, with the central midfielders supporting and carrying on the attack the his sides. He's a ball retriever as well as he conducts the counter-attack and distributes the ball. He's my modern No. 5, my "Advanced Sweeper" (how many times have I mentioned that term? lol).]

The modern game is about taking advantage of the wide positions of the field. So my fullbacks, during the attack, will turn into wide midfielders and support the wingers and the attack in general through the sides.

I haven't tested this formation yet, but I hope it delivers a safer defense as well as a more in-depth offense.

What do you think? This is very similar to how FC Barcelona plays, but could well be used against them this Wednesday.

The_Emperor5Why Ronaldo on the right side? Because he's a better crosser than Benzema. I don't usually cross much when playing FIFA 12, but when it becomes necessary, I will need a person that can cross well enough with his preferred foot. You could as well put Ronaldo as the CF and Özil in the left, therefore moving Benzema to the right.

About Granero, he's a better distributor than Diarra, but Diarra is better defensively. Diarra will be a substitution available for the CDM position, or Khedira. Or you could start either and start Diarra or Khedira in the CDM position. The problem is that they don't the playmaking abilities of Alonso, and Alonso is my Deep Lying Playmaker, so I'm starting him there.
