JimmyGuitaristBarca's approach was slightly different to usual. They didn't want to give Bilbao the chance to press from the front. Both Pique and Mascherano had obviously been told to build quickly from the back and made lots of driving runs forward. It was the lowest possession stat I've seen from Barca as well, just 56%.
Bilbao probably should've took something from the game in the last 20 minutes. I'm sure you lot know about Bilbao's manager but if you don't, search up Marcelo Bielsa. He's an innovator with tactics. He's one of the best I think.
david1993it was more direct performance from barcalona with more shots outside the box. Barcelona played well
but bilbao had 4 their best players on the bench it would have been much better game if iker muniain, ander herrera, fernando llorente and Fernando Amorebieta had played the full game
Borja Ekiza made some outstanding clearances and tackles in the game
Marcelo Bielsa is great manager and great with tactics Bilbao wont be happy to see him leave and Inter Milan seem to want him
as for Barcelona and Bilbao i am looking forward to the copa del rey final it should be a fantastic match
