CaptainGerardYou could have used some punctuation mate:)
I guess you don't like Keane much; he can do better in Kuyt's place in your formation.

sp88Finnan? Who he? Don't know where he is now, but it ain't Liverpool.
Kuyt is wasted in that position - no wonder he's having a goal drought.
Liverpool's trouble is that both Babel and Kuyt tend to come inside so opposing teams can stop them playing by swamping the centre of the pitch.

nvrFinnan went overseas, didn't he? Was it Espanyol?
Kuyt is not really a natural scorer. Look at the opportunities he missed in United game. It's true that he scores less becasue he is playing at the wings, but he wouldn't be scoring much more if he played up front.
14.09.2008
sp88Very true about Kuyt - but surely being played out of his natural position is why he's less than effective for Liverpool?
15.09.2008
nvrI am not sure he is less effective. Sure he doesn't score as many goals, but he has a lot of positives in his game as well. People love his work rate, tracking back and so on. Should he have played up front, everybody would be talking about him wasting chances. He is away from the goal and the pressure from fans.

sp88I do appreciate what you're getting at here, nvr. But I think Liverpool as a whole suffer from playing Kuyt in that position as it compromises any natural width they might look to have though.
It's similar to all the comments I read on this site about how Rooney shouldn't be played wide for United.
25.09.2008
nvrYes, I agree that he's not the best option at that position. Liverpool looks like a totally different when Benayoun and Babel play together. I guess Benitez is too cautious and he always prefers some defending ability in his wingers. It works well against bigger teams, but totally unnecessary against likes of Stoke City.

RedrebelIs Gerrard playing as attaking midfielder?
25.09.2008
sp88For a few games at the end of last season, Benitez played Gerrard as the support striker, so it's not unusual (couldn't resist a Rafa Benitez/Tom Jones gag there) to see Gerrard played so far forward.
28.09.2008
FeriAtsGerard can play anywhere, or at least that's what Benitez and England managers think. The poor chap was used as an AMF, LW, RW, forward and DMF.

trbwsGerrard is An Attacking midfielder and also plays a CMF and a Support Striker even if eny striker is enjured , and He plays a RMF or LMF ither and Benitez In the Match Always Change the Formation to a 4-2-3-1.
