RedrebelA lot of you guys have probably heard about Chivas, but the point is what you guys think about the formation 5-3-2. This formation has 2 center-backs, 1 sweeper/libero, 2 wing-backs, 2 defensive midfielders, 1 attacking midfielder, and 2 strikers. I have heard that the sweeper or libero is becoming extinct! But in Mexican League games I have seen teams using this formation a lot I don't why are they using this formation, but the point is they are using it. But if I analyze it I have seen that when the teams are in defense it becomes a 5-3-2 and when in offense it becomes 3-5-2. Like I said before formations change they don't stay the same, and if you think about it;it is a pretty good idea to switch formations depending on the situation. In Europe I have never heard or seen a team use a libero, but ofcourse that's Europe.

sp88Europe lost it's interest in the libero a long time since I'm afraid. Nowadays, you're more likely to find an extra defensive player in front of the centre backs (Makelele, for instance). With more teams in Europe these days playing with 1 up front, it's pointless having 3 central defenders.
