RedrebelA question came to my mind, what is better to have? 3 pure strikers, 2 wingers and 1 striker, or two support strikers and 1 main striker? So, I made this formation, and my question to you guys is, do you think playing with three pure strikers would be able to work and be successful for a team?

nvrIf you have 3 pure strikers who is going to serve them? So you have a 4 men midfield which must help your defense heavily, as they are only 3. At the same time they would have to pass the ball to pure strikers so effectively that these guys could score.

Even the teams which play only 2 strikers go for 1 target, 1 supporter set up. Look at these partnerships from EPL: Adebayor-Van Persie, Berbatov-Rooney, Carew-Agbonlahor, Crouch-Defoe, Alves-Tuncay... Do you see a pattern?

RedrebelI guess your answer is that this formation wouldn't work. So,how would you play 3 attackers?

RedrebelI personally think it can work, but not be successful.

Robert O'CarlosThe problem with 3 strikers would be the lack of space they'd get with them all looking to pop up in the middle. Plus the fact your team would be down to 7 outfield players when defending.
For me, 2 supporting forwards behind 1 main striker. With the supporting forwards allowed to play a free role and the midfield 4 just tightening the play up behind them.

RedrebelMy favorite way of playing 3 man up front is with 2 wingers, 1 striker, and 2 strikers and 1 second striker.
