RedrebelAs I was thinking for something different for this11.com as usual. I came up with this formation. Some of you are going to say that there is no point for having a sweeper, and that another center-mid would be much better. But, as you know sweepers can come out of the line and get up in front of the defenders, and act as true defensive midfielders, but that's to the managers preference. If you look at this formation it is not a bad idea. You got your own half of the field well protected, you got three forwards to mess with the opponent's back 4, but there's a problem, "the midfield". You only got two men in midfield. But, as always there is solutions. The full-backs can go up to midfield and defend from there or the sweeper can come out of the line and act as a defensive midfielder and spread through midfield, or the wingers can come to midfield and would be a 5-4-1. And I call it rare because nowdays its rare to see a team play with a back 5 and only 2 man in midfield.

JonnyHowsonI think if the wingers dropped back a tiny bit, this would be great :D

RedrebelWhat you mean?

JonnyHowsonI mean if the wingers acted as RM and LM when being defensive, this would be great :-D

RedrebelIf they did that than it would be more of a 4-5-1, but some wingers do that and it's effective, but I like wingers that are attack minded. Though, the winger's main defensive duty is to not let the full-back go into attack.

Robert O'CarlosIt's quite similar to a formation Soccer16 had on here a couple of weeks back except with wingers rather than 2 playrs attacking from more central positions. I've always liked the look of this formation. The midfield pairing doesn't need to think too defensively as there's the extra protection from the sweeper and it can become 5-4-1 really easily if needed.
Job's a good 'un.
