CaptainGerardI guess Gerard is best utilized in a position where he can shoot and make runs into box. That would be in the middle, behind Torres. Very similar to the one you've made earlier:

Robert O'CarlosI would think with this formation, it would be largely pointless having Kuyt on the pitch with Gerrard so good going forward and Johnson in the frame of mind of joining the attack when he can.

You'd be better off pushing Gerrard further forward into the space and moving Mascherano and Aquilani more central. Which would be ... their usual 4-2-3-1.
