LevBernerI disagree with some aspects. Skrtel and Kyrgiakos are excellent d-men. Skrtel being a hard-nosed defensive D, while Kyrg is a great offensive piece.
With your formation, it is a waste to have Kuyt playing as a defensive wing.
In my opinion, you take out Cole, and add Kuyt to that center attacking position. Then, you move Kelly over to that position opposite Johnson as Kelly has good control of the wing, especially when he is on the attack. I'm not sold on Agger, so I would replace him with Skrtel. Carragher may be a lot older than Kyrg, but his veteran presence is important, so I would leave him in.
Otherwise, looks good.

But since you ask about Cole, again note my description: "if the whole of Liverpool's squad was fully fit and on form."
My choice of Cole is based on the assumption that he is in top form and fully fit...and to be fair I think he would be better than Lucas in the same circumstances.
Also, I think Kuyt would do an alright job at right wing-back, his work rate is excellent...BUT, all things considered I would prefer someone better there...I just wanted to include him in the squad somewhere.

Lucas should be in everyone's best XI now this season he has been amazing.

pommahawk5986very good apart from kuyt. also push gerrard up, hes a born attacking midfield, dont waste him as a holding player. give him freedom, i believe this is why liverpool have struggled past few seasons.

Doctor_OxIt's only people who don't understand the concept of a football TEAM, that persistantly dismiss Lucas.
You can't just throw you 11 favourite attacking players out there and hope for the best (unless you're maybe Osvaldo Ardiles).
I don't see anybody in that midfield doing the difficult work. Lucas is positionally excellent and covers a lot of ground. His distribution has also improved massively this year. Basically, given the current squad, he's essential.

Firstly, I can assure you I know a lot about what makes up a football team, I have played football and watched football all of my life. Me not including Lucas may be against your personal judgement, but it doesn't mean I don't have a clue.
Secondly, you say "you can't just..." - Of course I can, I can make whatever formation I want.
Thirdly, on what evidential grounds can you judge this formation? The truth is that you can't because this hasn't been used yet...It's like judging a book by its boring cover, only to read it and it be fantastic. I believe this formation would win a lot of games, especially under King Kenny.
I respect your opinions, although I think you will find that they get more respect and consideration when they are put forward without an undermining/belittling tone...just something to think about.
