Niagarastarts out basic 4-4-2...when the ball moves up into the other teams half, the outside mids then move forward to become strikers, the two inside mids move to the outside and if the ball is on the left side, the left centre back moves into the centre mid (for ease of indicating which centre back moves forward). So when attacking you have 4 strikers and three mids to play the ball back to keeping three strong triangles and three defending. Once the ball is lost the two outside mids drop back, the centre mid drops back giving you 4 across the middle, 4 across the back defending. The key is your fast and fittest players play outside mid so they can move forward on the attack, and back to defend.
