basically what i was going for here was a team that could not only soak up barca's relentless attacking pressure and strike with force on the counter-attack

this is my first formation..... please tell me what i did wrong and i'll be happy to take your suggestions

Proffessional_Ameteur_REDThere is nothing wrong with this formation at all. In fact it is a very likely 11. Maybe a few changes will be made, like Rafael instead of O'shea. Also we are more likely to play Nani on the right if we are using Rooney as a lone False 9 striker, because he can go outside and cut in with his left, making better use of the space created by Rooney's movement.

However, I hope he doesn't use this formation, because it is what we tried in 2008.

I hope he does this. It still uses Rooney in a False 9, but there is also a poacher to make better use of the space created. AND it is less defensive.
