srussell541Freddy Adu's recent run of good form in the Turkish Second Division has earned him a surprise spot on the Gold Cup roster. Will he play? Maybe, but if he is on the pitch (or even starts), this is the way I expect the US to line up.

Freddy has excellent skill on the ball but he is extremely lacking in two departments: speed and workrate. This leaves him being effective at two positions only: Attacking midfielder or withdrawn foward. Playing him out wide at the international level is a death wish so putting him in the hole is the best bet here.

It remains to be seen if Adu will live up to his potential that led him to being the youngest professional athlete in US history. But he brings something different to the table than any other US midfielder, so it would be nice to see Adu on the pitch with other top US players
