JimmyGuitaristArgentina were brilliant in this match. I was suprised at how much better they were compared to there two previous performances when they were just shocking. They played how they've been playing in previous friendly matches. Costa Rica actually put on decent performances in this previous matches, but they sat way to deep really and there normal three man defence turned into more of a 5 man defence when out of possession, which Argentina had 65% of.
One stand out performance was Messi. He was just sublime, and I think he set up about ten one-on-one opportunities for his team-mates, especially Higuain. Higuain's movement in-general was good, but it was his finishing what was shocking. Aguero definitely made a difference too, and I'm not a huge fan of DiMaria but he wasn't bad in his match. It was hard to tell if they were even using a formation. I think it was 'officially' counted as a 4-2-3-1, but as ZonalMarking said, it turned into some sort 4-2-2-2 but it was just very free-flowing.

NorfLondenWas it because Costa Rica light weight, or are Argentina doing "the start the tournement slow and build the momentum" thing?

JimmyGuitaristRegardless of how light weight Costa Rica are, and were, they're better than the two other teams Argentina couldn't beat. Costa Rica were decent against the two other teams they played against; Bolivia and Colombia.
In answer to your question, I think they're doing "the start the tournement slow and build the momentum" thing.
