tressPotential formation with Henderson and Downing on the wings.

- This formation automatically leaves us with 2 central midfielders (If Suarez is fit to play).
- This is a formation that requires alot of movement from our RB, DM and our LF (due to big gaps and overlaps from Johnson on the right flank when Henderson moves in a more central position).
- Attack-wise, Suarez and Downing have a big role to play in this formation.

Positives:

- Many attacking options.
- Great passers of the ball
- Great crossers.
- Many options at set pieces.
- Two very hard to mark forwards.

Negatives:

- 2 big gaps (yellow rectangles) - maximum concentration from Johnson and Lucas(Adam).
- The need to regain possession as quickly as possible could be exhausting.
- Excellent positioning and understanding is key.

JimmyGuitarist"- The need to regain possession as quickly as possible could be exhausting." - I know I sound like I'm responding in my typical "Barca-fan-boy" type manner but to counter this, maybe they should practise keeping the ball for long stretches of time; something which I know is difficult to possess, but the need to regain possession as quickly as possible is an excellent skill to have too.
I'm not a huge fan of the 4-4-2, but making it as flexible looking as you've made it doesn't make it look like a bad option at all. Suarez being the more the creative forward will be an important role. I'm a fan of Carrol, even though he seems like the typical target man, he's more than that I think. When I watched him against Watford when he played for Newcastle, he was actually the winger and he played excellently; regardless of the opposition; he was impressive.
