padWith Cole and Bosingwa providing most of the width in attack Mata and Sturridge are freed up to have more of a free role cutting inside provide Torres with through balls and alowing space for Cole and Bosingwa to provide crosses into the box which could go to Mata, Torres, Sturridge or Lampard. Lampard will be able to add plenty of goals this season as well as assists. He has had 2 assists and 1 goal in three matches. This is a reverse of his usual trend of scoring more than assisting, but lets not forget he has the second most assists in Premier League history only beaten by Ryan Giggs. Ramires has been our best player all season and could relegate Essien to the bench or back to holding midfielder once he returns from injury. That being said Mikel has been solid especially considering his father was kidnapped during the start of the season. Cole is still one of the best left-backs in the world on a bad day and is a constant threat and rarely gets bested by an opponent. Bosingwa has recently rediscovered his form. The presence of Mikel usually makes up for his shortcomings in defensive duties but he has managed to defend as well as he has been attacking so far. Terry will always be first choice at centre back but Luiz, Alex and Ivanovic are all pretty close but Luiz has an excellent eye for a pass and will speed up any counter attack. If Mikel started faltering and Romeu wasn't entirely ready to play I would even choose him as a CDM. Allowing us to transform to a 3-4-3 on the counter attack and revert to a 4-1-2-3 when defending. This Line up allows a lot of flexibility as we can easily switch to a 4-4-2 (Sturridge becoming a deep-lying forward and Ramires moving to the right), a 4-<>-2 (Sturridge becoming a centre forward and Mata playing in the whole), a 4-2-3-1 (with Mikel playing a holding role and Ramires playing a more defensive box-box role and Lampard Sturidge and Mata all playing freely behind Torres) or a 5-2-3/5-2-1-2 (with Mikel dropping back and either Mata playing in the hole with Sturridge moving into the middle or them playing on the wings.

padRamires gets too many fouls per tackle. I think Mikel has been solid. Meireles is better as a squad player covering for Lamps and Ramires. Maybe Romeu but you have to introduce him slowly. If we get Gary Cahill in January you could put Luiz in the holding role.

mojojojo101Personally don't see Luiz moving into midfield, he is, in my opinion part of Chelsea strongest centre-back pairing (with Terry) and his ability to come forward with the ball would be well used as a way of getting another player around the middle of the pitch to control the game (the same way Lucio does for Inter/Brazil).

padI like the idea of having Luiz as a DM that can become a CB when we're on the attack to cover for Bosingwa and Cole and at the same time be able to initiate an attack/counter-attack from the back.
