chicarooneyThe team in the white is the team I think that could beat Barcelona. You need quick fullbacks and really defensive too like Rafael and Bale. You will need warriors in your defense like Vermaelen and Vidic. You will need energetic defensive mids like Scott Parker and Xabi Alonso. Quick wingers because Abidal hates pace like Nani and David Silva. Silva is also good for his defensive abilites too Ronney will support Ronaldo and there is good chemistry betwen them aswell.

JimmyGuitaristThere's no team what can beat them. There's no winning tactic what can beat them.
But, there is luck. You need luck. A lot of luck. Loads of luck.

Even if you pick this route, most teams just end up regretting it because they're still going to continue to make chances with 75% of the ball. One golden chance, they'll take it and just demoralise you.
Or this route which is very risky against a team who is so good at exploiting space.

king1319-Switch Vermealen and Vidic
-Kyle Walker/Micah Richards/Glen Johnson (and thats just in the epl)
-Maybe a more defensive/energetic player instead of alonso, wilshire, yaya toure

mojojojo101I don't understand your reasonning at all here tbh...
-Why do you need 'warriors' in defence, for 90% of the game they won't have anyone to play against. Fast intelligent centre-backs would be a much better bet.
-Defensive full backs like Rafael and Bale?? For a start Bale was pretty awful as a full back before he was moved forward to play as a winger...
-Energetic central midfielders? Firstly I wouldn't say Alonso is energetic, Secondly energetic players will just pull themselves out of position opening up loads of space for Messi and co. to work in. Barca's first goal in last season CL final was a perfect example of this.

JimmyGuitaristThe only way you remotely stand a chance is by parking-the-bus, and counter-attacking with less than 4 players going forward. Unless they're having an off day, I don't think anyone stands a chance at playing them at there own game; or taking the game to them. There players know there game to much, know what they're doing and all believe in how they play 100%. It's a team of technically gifted players.
It's the tactics rather than specific players what stand a chance against Barcelona but even at that, no tactic is certain to be successful against a team which have excellent tactical awareness, vision and as I already said; technical quality. One thing you do need is luck on your side, and a good goalkeeper wouldn't go amiss.

chicarooneyI dont know why ur criticising this team I think that can beat Barcelona. Its my opinion and what happened if this did turn out to be a match anyone can win. Sevilla drew with them and Sevilla had two men sent off. Getafe beat them too. You never know these days and also L Hospitalet lost 1-0 against them and Barca had a full team on.
25.01.2012
JimmyGuitaristYeah, I sounded like that in my last reply.. but I mean if you play against Barca on a day when they're really in the zone if you know what I mean. My point is, you can't just put the worlds best on the same team together and expect them to be able to beat Barca, who I think have the worlds best anyway.
25.01.2012
chicarooneyBut your a Barca fan boy Jimmy of course you would think your team is the best but its not Man Utd,Man City and Real Madrid are all better than Barcelona. To be honest you a bad goalkeeper a weak defense a super midfield and weak strikers Messi is just like Theo Walcott without Xavi and Iniesta look at his Argentina displays. Even Spurs are a better team. I would agree that the midfield is brilliant with the likes of Busquets,Xavi,Iniesta,Fabregas and Thiago Alacantra. Look at the strikers Sanchez is good but not amazing Messi is also a very good player but Xavi and Iniesta make him that player. David Villa is past his best. Pedro is ok but not really that good. and Soriano is like something like 24-26 and still plays for the reserves.

JimmyGuitarist@chicarooney:
You're clueless.
26.01.2012
chicarooneyEr says the guy who thinks his team is the best and thinks that noone can beat Barca when lots of teams have done that.
26.01.2012
nvr>>Messi is just like Theo Walcott
You are Theo Walcott and I want my £5.

Kun
you need a first class keeper who could keep you in the game when needed and is incredibley consistant like Manuel Neuer.
You need a defensive, yet quick fullback to cope with their attacking fullbacks and insisive counter attacks like Sagna
You would need quick thinking centre backs with top composure and passing ability, so Kompany and Thiago Silva would be perfect.
David Silva would come inside all game to get involved and dictate play leaving the left side for coentrao to provide width.
In midfield there are two powerhouses with ons of energy capable of bits of magic at any point, Schweinstieger and Yaya Toure, with Alonso keeping the shape of the team and spraying passes to stretch Barca.
Ronaldo is there, A. Because he is the best player that doesn't play for Barcelona and B. his pace will cause Abidal problems all game long. Van persie upfront because he can cause problems for anyone because of his strength, skill and his finishing, because you might have to convert your only 1/2 chances to win.
29.01.2012
JimmyGuitarist@Kun -
That is essentially what you need. A bloody good goalkeeper.
Don't agree on your point about Ronaldo causing Abidal problems though. In the first leg of the El Clasico in the Copa del Rey, Ronaldo was on the left and was constantly free because Alves was always in attack. In the second half, Alves was a lot better and Mourinho put him on Abidal instead & Abidal didn't give him an inch. Always covered with long-balls to Ronaldo and is always good with 1-on-1 .

chicarooneyJimmy I have the same goalkeeper
