AlanPartridgeCarrick's form is better than Barry's and Wilshere is unlikely to return from injury. OxC has already shown more potential than Walcott as a winger. Welbeck offers more work rate and better link up play than Sturridge or Bent.

NorfLondenAdam Johnson over OC for me, he has a bit of more experience under his belt.
Who would be your third choice for that Rooney/Gerard position?

03.02.2012

AlanPartridgeThe Ox is a bit better at helping out in defence too which is why i'd pick him over AJ.

If no Rooney or Gerrard i'd play Welbeck behind Bent i think.

SanzI'd find a place for Milner as he's one of the few England players who show up and perform to their club level. I'd possibly have him on the right. If Young is out of shape by the summer you could always try Milner on the left and Sturrige on the right. Just an option.

Capello doesn't seem a fan of Carrick. If fit i'd expect Gerrard to play in the centre, alongside Parker and possibly Barry if England use a three. Although Parker will have direct competition from Phil Jones.

In defence it'll likely be Cahill to partner Terry as they have already been used together and may gain more experience in a Chelsea shirt. There could be a surprise though if Smalling continues impressing in the centre for United.

The strikers are a much of a muchness, but if Carroll finds form between now and June (a big if, though he's been better in the last few games) then expect him to lead the line as Capello prefers a target man. Otherwise Bent or Welbeck will be chosen - unsure about Sturridge as he hasn't been playing centrally, and Capello will likely have this doubt too.

SanzJust remembered Rooney is suspended... which is why you put Rooney/Gerrard.

ZolaGerard has done nothing to warrant a starting place in the national team this season yet.

JimmyGuitaristThis is what I'd like to see but with Welbeck in Rooney's place until he's back from suspention:

But considering the injuries, I'd like this:

I like Baines.

chicarooneyAs much as I like Carrick I dont think Capello is a fan of Michael Carrick and only has 8 caps under Capello he last played for England in 2010 against Mexico on the 11 May 2010 which is nearly 2 years I think Parker and Barry will get picked with Leon Britton in a CAM role if you have never heard of him he plays for Swansea and is amazing and really underrated he is just like Xaviwith Sturrige Oxlade Chamberlain and Welbeck up top.

05.02.2012

JimmyGuitaristCompletely forgot about Swansea's lot. I'd definitely put Leon Britton in the squad. Even there two wide players, Scott Sinclair & Nathan Dyer, have impressed me a lot.

06.02.2012

chicarooneyOh yeah Nathan Dyer is a great player. I would put him on the bench and replace him with 25 mintues to go

06.02.2012

chicarooneyI mean put him on not replace him DOH!

06.02.2012

king1319WOW England has the hardest 11 to pick in the world, I can give a different answer everyday. Only positio nailed down is Hart. you can make a case for anyone. Maybe Parker and Cole. Form and injuries will play a massive role

Joe423With Capello gone, they should really look at bringing Carrick into the squad. Far superior to Barry.
