chicarooneyThis is my concept of beating Barcelona, now I know Chelsea beat them this year but they parked the bus put all the men behind the ball and were lucky to get that last mintue goal by Torres because Cole hoofed it up the pitch Torres was in his own half which you cant be offside and just ran but i'll stop talking about a game what happened a long time ago and talk about this formation. This is how to beat Barcelona without parking the bus, You need a good goalkeeper and a solid defense but midfield is the problem because you have to stop Xavi and Iniesta so I put Yaya Toure Schweinstger and Xabi Alonso in because they are very good at breaking down the other teams attacks and can bring the ball upto the forwards, you also need pace in your frontline and creativity because Barcelona have a average defense with Pique who is vastly overrated Puyol who is getting slow and old and Mascherano who you sometimes can't trust and isn't a natural defender, So I put Rooney in because he can help my defensive midfielders and can also break up play despite being a striker, I have Silva because he can feed Ronaldo with defense-splitting passes and Ronaldo can get onto the end of them and finsh it. So what do you think of my formation people? and Barcelona fans can comment to and sy if you think my team can beat yours. You also need to play the long-ball because Barcelona's team is full of midgets apart from Pique and Mascherano.

EL NINO#9this team can beat barcelona,but i prefer lampard for toure and i dont think its formation or tactics or styles to beat barca but i think you need to have better players than them.thats what i think,i dont really know.

chicarooney@EL NINO Thanks for saying that my team can have a chance vs Barca but the reason why Lampard isn't in my team is because he is far too old to stop Xavi and Iniesta, If he was a bit younger I would defo have him in my team it's just at 34 it's hard to stop two midfield geniuses.

These topics are just ridiculous. "How to beat Barcelona" - So you just dump on (some) of the worlds best players into one squad and think it'll work? There's no definite way of beating Barcelona, same with any other team.
If it was me, I'd try to press Barcelona because I'd rather lose than play the way Chelsea do & get lucky. But, pressing Barcelona can be suicidal because they're so good at exploiting any space in-behind.

Cool you must be good at football then. @JimmyGuitarist Pique isn't really that good, he is a rash tackler and is only good at playing high up the field and Barca do have a weak defense i'd have Arsenal's defense over yours anyday and thinking Barcelona can't be beaten well look at Real Madrid and a few other teams last season they beat you and even AC Milan managed to get a draw against you. I've looked at some of your other comments and you've said you can't beat Barca there is no winning tactic to beat them, of course there is parking the bus, your just a very arrogant Barca fan who is still mad after losing the LA Liga and the Champo League in the same week. And wahat is wrong with EL NINO's typing it's fine aren't you supposed to write short things on the internet.

JimmyGuitarist@chicarooney - Pique's a fantastic defender. Look at both Barcelona's & Spain's defensive record. The amount of possession they both have can probably disguise how actually good they are at defending, but possession is apart of how they defend & Pique plays a part in keeping possession; So if you look at it from that point of view...
I do think Barcelona can be beaten, I'm not saying that. But that doesn't mean there's a definite way of beating them like you've put it in this topic. Not that it means much, Real Madrid beat Barcelona once last season & Barcelona beat them three times. AC Milan got a draw against them, yes. I remember, it was a good game. Parking the bus isn't a definite way of stopping them. On occasion, it does work in the same way pressing high & attacking does occasionally. It's suddenly become a monumental tactic just because Chelsea did it and won with it but Barcelona have had parked-buses put against them since Johan Cruyff was manager in the early 90's. It's just what Barcelona have come to expect in every game.
I love Barcelona because I'm a fan of there whole philosophy but I'm a Watford FC fan and I've been a season ticket holder since I was 4. Assuming from your username, I'm guessing you're a Man U fan. Are you from Manchester?

chicarooney@EL NINO Cool. @JimmyGuitarist Yes i'm from Manchester supported United since I was 6 years old, but pressing vs Barca can be sometimes sucidal it depends what defense you have out because if you have 3 centre backs no wing-backs then it's a good idea but when you have a full defense of 4 it's sucidal.

@chicarooney - Pressing Barca can be suicidal, but I'd rather go out knowing my team at least took the game to them rather than sit back and hope. I don't know how 3 center-backs would work. You'd have no spare man against there front 3, that's why most play a narrow back 4 against them. But, with such a fluid shape, you never really have a spare man against Barca in defense because they change there shape seemlessly with possession.
