Old vs New Italy

José Luis AyalaThe "Old" Italy is based on the starting lineup against France in the 2006 World Cup Final. It was an experienced squad with many great midfielders. Italy had a variety of strikers in their squad, including Totti, Toni (the two main strikers), Del Piero, Iaquinta, Gilardino, and Inzaghi.They managed to beat a 10-man France squad in penalties.

The "New" Italy is composed from the starting lineup against Spain in the 2012 Euro Final. This squad has a solid defense. However, they conceded 4 goals in the final. Nowadays Italy's strikers still vary, having Balotelli, Cassano, Di Natale, and the two young stars, El Shaarawy and Giovinco.
