narahari92This formation is very good in modern football since it controls midfield well and it is good in both attack and defense. In attack, the 3 defenders move sideways and so is Asier illaramendi and also a bit forward to receive back pass from attackers if they cant pass forward. Morata and carvajal usually link up with jese and isco respectively with ozil linking up in both sides. Ronaldo can play as false 9
or classic 9. while in defense formation is turned in to 4-4-2, with morata or carvajal falling back whoever is on the other side of the ball and mesut ozil taking role of central midfielder. jese or isco falls back to midfield depending on which side of the pitch ball is in. .

narahari92Marcelo can be put in Alvaro Morata's place, because he is very good in attacking and linking with left wingers and while defending there is no problem because he is regular left back..and if the ball is in his side, the team has extra advantage in the midfield having a defender.

narahari92whole previous season cristiano ronaldo had cut inside and acted as a second striker. He rarely went down the left flank which was done usually by marcelo. so putting him in regular striker position we can get more depth in
attacking and as i mentioned he can play as false 9 to get more involved in build up.

I like the formation but I doubt Ancelotti will give up the back 4.
Also, I just don't see Morata in that position, and I wouldn't bench Benzema.
My take is: (4-2-3-1) -
Iker; Carvajal, Ramos, Varane, Coentrao; X.Alonso, Khedira/Asier; Ronaldo, Oezil, Isco; Benzema.

narahari92yes Benzema will not be replaced. I'm just showing the positions.Even its doubtful that jese will be given chance ahead of dimaria. Players can be chosen as one wants.yes, its highly doubtful that ancelloti uses this formation instead of his usual 4-3-2-1 he is playing in preseason.I'm just telling the options. But many managers dont go for 3-man defense other than in Italy.
